We Care Ministries... in your Community

Because of the training provided to our We Care Ministries Response Team, our responders are also qualified in Daily Crisis Response, especially to children and families who are facing a crisis. They understand practical tools for people hurting or who are facing a crisis. These are tools that can be used during a national response situation and also for a neighbor down the street or someone from church when a crisis impacts just one family.

Our responders minister to such people in crisis as families of murder victims as well as families which have experienced suicides, accidental deaths, sexual assaults, health issues, loss of jobs, child behavioral issues and divorces. They are trained in such sensitive areas as:

  • Death – why does it exist in the world?
  • Grief – What can we do about it?
  • Servant Leadership – Jesus as our role model

While many people know us for our immediate response to national disasters, our responders work on a daily basis with people who need compassionate care in times of crisis.

Crisis Counseling and Intervention
After the devastating impact of a workplace or schoolyard violence or local events involving mass casualties and fatalities such as the D.C. sniper shootings,  We Care immediately provides trained counselors to assist the communities, the families and their friends. Moreover, daily We Care provides professional counseling and case management to individuals in crisis.

Rescue and Recovery
At the World Trade Center, Hurricane Katrina in the city of New Orleans and after the Bombing of the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City, We Care Crisis Response Teams assisted the local police, fire and military personnel with the rescue and recovery of thousands of individuals. Additionally, We Care provides the emotional first aid and spiritual support to the first responders.

Shelter Management and Care
After devastating hurricanes impacted Florida, Maryland and the Gulf Coast region, We Care established and staffed local shelters in cooperation with the American Red Cross and FEMA. Our main focus is to care for the needs of seniors and the medically infirmed providing them with much needed services in times of disaster.
